Study and get ready to sit the English exam. I personally recommend the OET instead of the academic IELTS. Anto chose PTE and she recommends it.
While you study for the English exam, collect all the paperwork needed to apply for the Eligibility Assessment.
Click the link below to download the eligibility assessment checklist in english or spanish version.
The paperwork if it’s not in English, needs to be translated by a "NAATI certified translator"
Apply for the Eligibility Assessment on the the AVBC, submit all the documents required and pay the fee.
Once eligible, they will send you the MCQ application form.
The MCQ exam (multiple choice questions) is held once a year, usually in April.
In 2022, the venues available to sit the MCQ were Auckland, Brisbane, Dubai, Melbourne, London, New Delhi, Perth, Sydney and Singapure.
Study, study and study, allow yourself PLENTY of time. The time of preparation for this exam will vary from person to person. Natalia studied for 2 years, but Anto studied for 7 months.
Once you pass the MCQ you can apply for a limited registration, depending on the state you are located in, this allows you to work as a Vet under supervision.
Now, get ready for the FINAL STEP in your JOURNEY! Send an expression of interest to do the clinical exam, fill the form and pay the exam fee.
The clinical exam normally held on once or twice a year during June and November/December, at the University of Queensland and the examination takes 5 days to complete.
STUDY and get hands-on experience with dogs, cats, horses, cows and sheeps.
Best of luck! You can do this!
